Workshops and Educational Programs

Ley Line’s educational programs take participants on a journey around the world through music, language and rhythm. Their original compositions are inspired by instruments, rhythms and traditional folk songs from Latin America, Brazil and West Africa. Ley Line offers workshops and educational programs that cultivate dialogue about cross cultural understanding and explore self expression as a tool to connect across differences. Through guided conversations, songwriting workshops and exploration of world music and rhythm they offer an interactive and transformative experience. The four women of Ley Line are all avid travelers and educators, passionate about sharing their experiences and love for music. They have worked as music mentors with the Austin non-profit The Amala Foundation’s One Village Music Project. This project connects high school aged youth from around the world in a week long retreat in which they write and record an original album based on their life experiences. Since their 2016 tour through Brazil, they have been offering educational programs to youth around the world, guiding participants to better understand their connection to a global community.
